Increasing in Love, Yielding to the Holy Spirit
We began the day with a mini-sermon in the tithe. Pastor Debbie shred a shocking statistic. Only 5% of the church tithes! Can you imagine how much the church could accomplished if they would believe the word and act on it? There are over 2,000 verses in the Bible dedicated to finances. God wouldn't have placed such an emphasis on it if it weren't important.
We continued our series on "Love, the More Excellent Way." People are looking for a place to belong. Love is a commandment, not a feeling. We also learned that the spiritual gifts are a manifestation of God's love! Love cares for people. If you are too busy to be a Christian or "Christ-like" then you are not a Christian. Harsh, yet true.
Our day concluded with a message on yielding. Heads are for thinking, spirits are for drinking. People who are going to move in the Holy Ghost have to be hungry and willing. We had a bunch of hungry and willing people here Sunday night! Hallelujah!
